A sedimentation tank is used with unclear water or liquids with sludge, such as surface water, muddy water, or wastewater from various manufacturing processes. The tank separates water from sediment. Some wastewater may need chemicals to aid in flocculation, such as ALUM or Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC 10%). When the water passes through the sedimentation tank, it will come out clear. The sludge was sent to dispose of in a landfill, dry, or import into a filter press.
